Does it hurt???

As you can see...the sling did not stop anything...especially eating!!!

Well...nothing like waiting for something exciting to happen to post again.I told myself I was going to make regular posts.....I guess I am tardy again.
We had our first "accident driven" visit to the Med clinic this past weekend. I am so glad my sweet girl does not know how to put sarcasm with her fabulous vocabulary....as mama feels like a real horse's patooty for asking the obvious question.
Mama also feels like a real horse's patooty for pushing my sweet girl on the swing like she was 5. We forget sometimes that she is only 2...well 2 1/2,but who is counting.
Parker forgot to hold on in mid-air and took a big fall of Nana's swing. She is so tough, that we almost did not take her to the Doctor, but we are glad we did because she has a
closed supracondylar fracture......which is a fancy name for her elbow. The clinic Doctor put her in a sling and said that would be enough. My anal nursing instincts required further attention so I brought the x-rays to work and they were seen by a pediatric orthopedic Doc----he put her in a cast this morning.
She was once again a very big girl...picked out her cast color, pink of course!!! As we were leaving the office, she so matter of factly says--"we go home home for scissors to cut it off." :)
She is doing great. I am sure things will not be very different except for she can't take her requested showers for 3 weeks. Oh, and she did fall into the toilet today for the first time--hard to only use on hand!!

And our post-cast breakfast at Chic-Fila!!!!

Bath-time learning

Parker looooveess bath-time!!!! actually now it is shower time, as that is usually her preference when asked. We have these fun stick-on letters that we practice with each night. Parker knows her P,O,C,A,K...and the 3,4 and 1. She is quite proud of herself, as is her mama, when she gets one right.

Visit to Austin

We are fortunate enough to live close enough to Austin-that we are able to visit on a regular basis. Although it is impossible to see all our loved ones on one trip, although we have done a pretty good job at making our rounds.....Parker loves making her list of all those special people anytime she hears the word AUSTIN ...........Nana..Papa...Kenzie...Macie...Gamma...Papa...Kelsey(she is in college-Parker says)..Devin..Michael...Dylan.....Axel....:)
We recently visited and the girls played dress up at Nana's house.Love it!!!

Happy Cake

I have been wanting to start this blog since Parker was born, and obviously I am a "wee bit tardy" with that one.In fact, I have always wanted to be a journal writer.
Through my years, I have started many....but have
never kept up.I was usually trying to deal with some "crisis" or "emotional dilemma." Now I am living the dream of motherhood and cannot seem to stay caught up with all the milestones and wonderful memorable moments. I hope my brain will do its job and keep all of the moments up until now clear; there have been so many terrific moments.
My life is full of laughter and smiles (and sometimes tears and frustration ) from my sweet-girl and it will be fun to share some of our life with those who choose to visit our blog.
Life with a toddler is a life I could have never prepared for, but it is a GREAT life and I would not change a thing.
"Happy Cake" is my favorite "Parker-ism" to date. She turned 2 this past January, and when her cake arrived with 2 glowing candles...she said "yeah for Happy Cake!!!!" Each time we see some variation of a birthday cake, we announce our excitement.
I have learned that a day with
HAPPY CAKE is always a good day!!!!
